Brandon Sanderson announced today that he’s completed Oathbringer, volume three of The Stormlight Archive. Well, the first draft anyway. That’s the third thousand-page book in this epic, which started at around the same time that George R. R. Martin published the most recent Thrones book and Rothfuss published the most recent Kingkiller book.

But in the meantime Sanderson has also published half a dozen other lengthy novels, including the entire Steelheart YA series, Mistborn part 2, and more. I don’t know if the guy’s just a workaholic or what, but the irony is that he actually travels more than GRRM, constantly dropping Facebook posts from random airport bookstores where he’s signed copies of his books that were just sitting on shelves there. (lol)

I don’t know where he gets it from, but the result is amazing. The Cosmere is very much at the top of the heap for fantasy literature at the moment, and it will be interesting to see where he goes with it next. I can’t wait!
